Coke, cash corralled in Carey

CAREY – Two Toledo residents are facing felony charges after a traffic stop in Carey Saturday night.

According to Carey Police Department, personnel stopped a vehicle driven by Misty M. Martinez, 30, of Toledo, for a violation of failure to drive in marked lanes on East Findlay Street around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

More than a kilogram of cocaine, nearly $3,000 in cash, the vehicle and other items were seized after an investigation, according to a release from the police department.

Brian P. Bolen, 33, and Deontay M. Smith, 23, both of Toledo, were arrested and face various felony charges, according to the police department. They were incarcerated at Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, a police spokesman said.

Martinez was cited and released, according to the release. Information about the charges and citation issued was not available from the police department Sunday.

The incident remained under investigation Sunday.
