Woman sentenced for car death
A Columbus woman who pleaded no contest to aggravated vehicular homicide was sentenced to 180 days in jail last week in Crawford County Municipal Court.
Elisa Schalk, 26, also had her license suspended for five years after being found guilty of the first-degree misdemeanor, a Crawford County Municipal Court spokeswoman said.
Schalk had run a stop sign at the intersection of SR 100 and SR 19 in April last year, causing the death of 50-year-old Brian L. Zeiter.
Zeiter is a native of Bloomville and graduated from Columbian High School.
