Man treated for cut, BB shot

FOSTORIA A man was treated at a hospital and released after he was shot in the head with a BB gun and suffered a laceration on his arm early Thursday morning.

Capt. Patrick Brooks of Fostoria Police Department said police had received a 911 call from a man in the 700 block of North Vine Street who reported he had either been shot or stabbed, but didn’t know which. The call was received at 7:01 a.m., according to reports.

When police arrived at the residence, it appeared the man had been shot in the head with a BB gun and also had a laceration on his left arm, Brooks said. The man told police he didn’t know what had happened to him. Brooks said the man then was transported to Fostoria Community Hospital, where he was treated and released. He said neither injury was serious.

Brooks said an adult who was at the residence at the time was questioned by police as a witness.

According to police reports, the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation was dispatched to the residence. Brooks said no arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.
