Janet Leahy appointed to elections board
COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has appointed Janet Leahy as a member of the Seneca County Board of Elections.
Leahy is to complete the unexpired term of Cora Bour.
State law requires bipartisan representation on Ohio’s 88 county boards of elections. Each board is made up of two Republican members and two Democratic members, all of whom must be qualified electors in the counties for which they serve.
The secretary of state makes appointments to boards of elections based on recommendations of the executive committees of the respective county political parties.
Leahy was recommended by the Seneca County Republican Executive Committee. She previously worked at the board for 24 years, including 12 years as director. She retired Dec. 31, 2012.
