Bloomville considers capital projects

BLOOMVILLE – Bloomville Village Council met Wednesday evening

to discuss future community renovations. Council passed resolution 2013-4 to renovate the downtown area by fixing curbs, sidewalks and installing eight ramps in accordance with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The engineer estimate for the project is $60,000, and Community Development Block Grant funds are being sought.

Bloomville would contribute $20,000 to the project if the grant can fulfill the balance. The application deadline is April 17.

Council also discussed CORSSWAEH clients being contracted with to clean up Beeghly Park in the spring and summer. Clients will be in the park two to three times a week to paint the pool building, pick up brush and perform other jobs.

In other business:

Mayor Robert George reported a closed laundromat has reopened.

Council discussed the possibility of designating a handicap parking place in front of the post office.

Work on the pool is to begin within the next two weeks.

Bloomville Community Garage Sale dates are June 7-8.

Council is to meet at 7 p.m. April 17.
