Tiffin reports

A caller from Walmart, 2801 W. SR 18, reported two shoplifters Tuesday afternoon. A juvenile was arrested, according to the report.

A caller reported Tuesday afternoon a man was sleeping in a wash bay at West Side Car Wash, 380 Wentz St. The man, who was homeless, was advised by police to call First Call for Help.

A caller in the 200 block of East Perry Street reported Wednesday morning two people got out of a vehicle and assaulted a man on a bicycle. According to the report, it was a verbal altercation between two men and one of them left on a bicycle.

A caller from Walmart, 2801 W. SR 18, reported Wednesday morning a woman tried to steal a TV. When employees tried to stop the woman, she dropped the TV and ran toward a vehicle. An officer pulled over the vehicle on North SR 53 and a woman was cited with driving under suspension.

County reports

Haydee U. Diaz, 30, of Green Springs, was charged with domestic menacing Tuesday.

A caller from Seneca East Local Schools, 13343 E. US 224, reported Wednesday morning a student brought a large pocket knife to school Tuesday. The situation was handled internally, the caller said. The student was suspended and the knife was confiscated.

A caller reported Wednesday afternoon wheel weights were stolen from the first block of East TR 132.

Fostoria reports

Laken R. Mcglone, age unavailable, of Fostoria, was charged with theft Tuesday.

A man in the 600 block of Columbus Avenue reported Tuesday night his friend was assaulted by his stepson. The father and stepson were separated for the night.

A 700-block West Center Street woman reported Wednesday morning her vehicle was broken into and a change purse was taken.

A juvenile was arrested Wednesday morning in the 900 block of Leonard Street. While police were at the residence, a boy had threatened officers to get out of his room and also refused to go to school.


Tiffin firefighters were called to 297 Wall St. Tuesday afternoon for an unauthorized burn.

Tiffin firefighters were called to West Perry and Elmer streets Tuesday evening for a good intent call.

Old Fort firefighters were called to the report of a garage fire Wednesday morning on North CR 33. Craig Mellott of the Old Fort Volunteer Fire Department said a power line had fallen on some leaves, igniting a fire.

Sycamore firefighters were called to East CR 20 Wednesday morning for a fire alarm.


Tiffin EMS had one squad run Tuesday afternoon, one squad run Tuesday night and one squad run early Wednesday morning. Ambulances also were needed two times Wednesday morning.

Attica fire and EMS had a squad run Tuesday evening.

Republic fire and EMS had a squad run Wednesday morning.
