Teen reading program to end

The teen department at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to close the teen summer reading program, “Spark a Reaction,” with a finale party 3-4:30 p.m. Monday in the Frost Kalnow room.

Teens are invited to cook out with the library staff while winners of the program are announced.

Participants must be present to win.

Summer reading comes to an end

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to close the “Fizz, Boom, Read” summer reading program with “Fizz, Boom, Read…Celebrate!” 5:30-7 p.m. July 31in the Frost Kalnow room.

The junior library staff are to host the event with ice cream and fruit.

Grand prize winners are to be announced during the event.

Story time for youngsters

Children ages 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are invited to preshool story time at 1 p.m. July 29 at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library.

The program is to include stories, rhymes, songs and other early literacy activities.

Hula contest at T-SPL

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host a “Hoopla Hoop” contest at 1 p.m. Aug. 6 in the parking lot of the library.

Participants are to bring their own hula hoops. The grand prize is an Android tablet for the person who hula hoops the longest.

Other giveaways are to go on throughout the event as well.

Patrons are to also be able to register for hoopla digital service, an online streaming service similar to Netflix.

Author book signing

CLYDE – Author Mark Strecker is to visit at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Clyde Public Library to discuss his recent book, “Shanghaiing Sailors: A Maritime History of Forced Labor, 1849-1915.”

Copies of the book are available for purchase at the library, at 222 W. Buckeye St.

Batman turns 75

CLYDE – The Clyde Public Library is to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the DC comic book character Batman Wednesday at the library, 222 W. Buckeye St.

Prize bags are to be given away. The bags are to include a poster, temporary tattoos, buttons, bookmark and a mask.

Bags are to be distributed one per person and are available while supplies last.

Create mini gardens at Clyde library

CLYDE – Seneca County Master Gardener Jean Preston is to demonstrate how to create a miniature garden at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Clyde Public Library, at 222 W. Buckeye St.
