Wall Street exec to speak at ’Berg

A Wall Street executive is to address Heidelberg University during The Patricia Adams Lecture Series in April.

Carla Harris, vice chairwoman of Global Wealth Management and managing director and senior client adviser at Morgan Stanley, is to present a series of formal and informal sessions with students and a presentation during the Heidelberg’s Women Entrepreneur Awards.

Harris then is to present her keynote address, “Expect to Win,” at 6 p.m. April 9, beginning with a reception in Seiberling Gym.

“Described as a ‘Wall Street powerhouse,’ Carla Harris will add a whole new dimension to our Patricia Adams Lecture Series,” Connie Harris, vice president for Institutional Advancement and University Relations, said. “Carla will be sharing her passion in helping others as well as all of her talents with our students and our community.”

Carla Harris formerly headed the Emerging Manager Platform, the equity capital markets effort for the consumer and retail industries, and was responsible for raising private equity capital for emerging companies in all industries as the head of equity private placements, Connie Harris said.

“Carla has extensive industry experiences in the consumer, technology, media, retail, telecommunications, transportation, industrial, and healthcare sectors,” she said.

Carla Harris, who also is a gospel singer and author, is to perform with Heidelberg’s Chamber Singers before her address. She released her third gospel CD, “Unceasing Praise,” in 2011 and has authored a book, “Strategize to Win: The New Way to Start Out, Step Up or Start Over in Your Career” in December 2014.

“Carla will have a message that resonates with everyone from eager students to young professionals and established executives to retires,” Connie Harris said. “Guests will leave feeling motivated.”
