Local dealership adds Chevrolets to lineup
Baumann Auto Group has announced the addition of the Chevrolet lineup at its Tiffin location.
May 1, Baumann acquired the Chevrolet franchise at its Tiffin location, and the dealership now is Baumann Chevrolet Buick GMC. General Manager Dave Conn said Baumann was awarded the franchise after GM recognized Chevrolet still has a place in the Tiffin market.
Last Wednesday, the Tiffin Baumann dealership began bringing a selection of Chevy vehicles from other Baumann locations to ensure immediate availability.
“Having four Chevy franchises within the Baumann family is a luxury,” Conn said, adding it allows the dealership to offer a large selection of vehicles and an excellent level of service to customers.
Chevrolet cars, trucks, SUVs, and crossovers will be available at Baumann, and Conn said he is particularly excited about the car line offered by Chevrolet. Not only is the quality of the vehicles outstanding, he said, but Chevy cars “offer a reasonable
price point for consumers’ budgets.”
Bringing Chevy back to Tiffin, Conn said, will be a boost to the community.
Essentially, he said, Chevy is new business in Tiffin, and will bring increased tax revenue and new job opportunities to the area. Conn said he expects the dealership to add between four and eight new positions with the addition of the franchise.
Not only will the additional business be positive for the Tiffin economy, but will allow Baumann to continue giving back to the community through its focus on charity programs and other community events, Conn said.
As Chevy is reintroduced to the Tiffin market, Baumann Chevrolet Buick GMC is to undergo a remodel of its 2291 W. SR 18 location.
The dealership has been open since 1991, and Conn said the changes are to ensure Baumann is consistent with the “Chevrolet vision.”
The dealership and lot will “look totally different,” he said, and is a project with a projected price tag of more than $1 million. Conn said upcoming changes include additions to the dealership building and lot, and renovations to the sales and service building.
Conn said remodeling is to begin this fall and should take 4-5 months.
