Navy: 8 sailors aboard aircraft carrier hurt during landing | Advertiser-Tribune NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Eight sailors were injured Friday aboard the Norfolk-based aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower during an aircraft landing off Virginia's coast, the Navy said. All eight were in stable condition and none had life-threatening injuries, Cmdr. Mike Kafka of Naval Air Force Atlantic said. Six were taken by helicopter to hospitals in Norfolk and Portsmouth, Kafka said. Two were treated on board the Eisenhower. The sailors were working on the flight deck at the time of the accident.
