SRWC meeting set for Wednesday
The next Steering Committee meeting for the Sandusky River Watershed Coalition is 8:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Heidelberg Campus Center 220.
The meeting is to focus on the organization’s annual meeting and family-centered activities scheduled for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 30 at the Sandusky River Coon Hunters grounds, 7575 S. TR 131.

Straw bale house tours June 10
Tours of Little Portion Green, the straw bale house behind the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., are planned 2-4 p.m. June 10.
Visitors also can plan ahead to reserve a home-cooked brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings using local foods from Little Portion Green for a freewill donation. The brunch includes a tour.

Seneca hunters check more than 150 wild turkeys
Hunters in Seneca County harvested 151 turkeys during spring wild turkey season, down from 179 last year, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Numbers in neighboring counties also were down: Crawford, 62 (75); Hancock, 38 (52); Huron, 162 (170); Sandusky, 18 (21); Wood, 19 (24); and Wyandot, 87 (108).
Statewide, hunters checked 20,689 birds, an increase from 19,147 in 2017. Youth hunters checked 1,882 birds this year during youth season, compared to 1,895 last year.
