Park programs, July 3
A Nature Walk Bird Talk is planned at 8 a.m. July 12 at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, SR 19 south of Bloomville. All ages are welcome to walk the trails to see what nature has to offer.
The walk qualifies for the walking stick program. No registration is required.
Later that morning at Garlo preserve, Young Adventurers ages 6-12 are invited to learn about birds, bees and other pollinators at 10:30 a.m. by exploring the gardens.
Public viewing for the 14th annual photo contest, along with a family fishing day and a Leave No Child Inside Natural Play Day are planned for noon-4 p.m. July 13 at Garlo preserve.
Spend the afternoon with a variety of activities. Start at the nature center and check out the photos, then venture to the pond for fishing. Bring a pole or use a loaner. Bait is provided.
After fishing, take an adventure on the trail. Several stations will be found on the trail for an all-natural play day such as jumping as far as a bull frog and crossing a stream without getting wet. End the afternoon with refreshments at the picnic shelter.
