Breakfast to benefit Alzheimer’s Association
Elmwood at the Shawhan, 54 S. Washington St., is to serve a “Fanci-ful Breakfast” 7:30-10:30 a.m. today. The menu is to feature eggs, sausage patties, fresh fruit, bread, pastries, coffee and juice.
Cost is $8. Proceeds are to benefit the Tiffin-Seneca United Way and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Genealogy program planned in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN – The Wood County chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society is to meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St., Bowling Green.
Local historian and librarian, Meg Atkinson, is to provide an in-depth session on the free genealogy software, Legacy Family Tree.

SMYL party scheduled
Seneca Mentoring Youth Links is to host a Halloween costume party at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 2878 N. CR 41. The cost is $25, which includes two drink tickets. A limited number of tickets are available for this public event.

Lionesses to offer donuts
SYCAMORE – The Mohawk Lioness are to make doughnuts Saturday at the Sycamore Firehouse, starting at 7:30 a.m. Orders are being taken in advance through club members.
People are invited to watch the doughnut-making, as well.

Scrapbookers can cut away
The Tiffin Mothers of Twins Club will be hosting a Making “Multiple” Memories Scrapbooking Day from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday at First United Baptist Church, 419 Coe St.

Speaker to describe war’s devastation to families
Sponsored by Project Peace and Tiffin Area Pax Christi, Kathy Kelly, international advocate for peace, is to present “Reflections on Warfare in Afghanistan and Gaza” at 7 p.m. Saturday in Elizabeth Schaefer Auditorium, 190 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin.
Admission is free, though an offering is to be collected for Kelly’s work.
The Nobel Peace Prize nominee recently returned from Afghanistan, and she is to share the stories of families she lived with.
Christmas assistance sign-up to begin
The Salvation Army is to conduct its Christmas sign-up 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Oct. 28 through Nov. 8 at 505 E. Market St.
Nov. 1, the office is to be open until 6 p.m. for those who cannot register during the day.

Art auction to benefit TAG
Tiffin Art Guild’s in-the-gallery fundraiser auction, “Off the Wall,” is slated for Nov. 7 at the TAG Gallery, 178 S. Washington St. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the live auction begins at 7.
The pieces for the auction are to go on display at the gallery Thursday. Pre-bids are to be accepted on any of the items during the two weeks prior to the auction.
There will be paintings, watercolors, oils, acrylics, drawings, prints, hand-crafted wooden bowls and sculptures, hand crafted jewelry and more. Michael Strong is to serve as auctioneer, Guests also can enjoy refreshments and beverages.
Regular gallery hours are 1-5 p.m., changing to noon-4 p.m. with the switch to Daylight Savings Time.
