TAG plans high school exhibit
Tiffin Art Guild invites high school students to enter the annual High School Art Exhibition “Anything Goes” to be presented at the guild, 130 S. Washington St.
Students from Bridges Community Academy, Calvert, Columbian, Hopewell-Louden, Mohawk, New Riegel, Old Fort and Seneca East are eligible to participate.
Accepted media includes painting, photography, printmaking, computer graphics, mixed-media, drawing, sculpture, glass and ceramics.
Entry fee is $5 for non-members and free for TAG members. The dates to drop off art is 4-6 p.m. Jan. 25 and noon-4 p.m. Jan. 26.
Awards are $50 for Best of Show and $25 for First Place in each qualified media.
An artist’s reception is planned for 4-6 p.m. Feb. 3, with an awards presentation at 5 p.m., and items are to be displayed Feb. 3-16.
Artists can pick up their pieces noon-4 p.m. Feb. 16.

Auditions at BSA set
BELLEVUE — Bellevue Society for the Arts is to have auditions for James and the Giant Peach Jr. beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday and Jan. 3 at 205 Maple St.
Actors are asked to prepare a one-minute monologue and 16-32 bars of a song of their choice in the style of the show (contemporary Broadway in rock or jazz style). Bring the audio file with no background vocals on a phone or iPad. An auxiliary speaker will be provided. Other accommodations for accompaniment can be made.
Bring all rehearsal/performance conflicts to be turned in during audition.
BSA’s Tween Theatre is open to children ages 10-15 in any school system. Must be 10 years old by Wednesday and no older than 15 by March 10.
“James and the Giant Peach Jr.” is being presented March 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10. It is being directed by Cheryl Hansen-Showalter of Bellevue. Music Director is Michael Sooy of Old Fort. It is sponsored by Cornerstone Counseling.
Take the kids ice skating
The weather has been too warm for outdoor ice skating, but two local arenas have planned special hours for the holidays.
Fremont Community Recreation Complex is to offer public ice skating noon-2 p.m. today, Friday, and Jan. 2, 3 and 4. The cost of $3 per person includes skate rental. The rec center is at 600 St. Joseph St., Fremont. For information, call (419) 434-5906.
Learn to skate at The Cube, 3430 N. Main St., Findlay. Lessons are 9-9:50 a.m. today, Friday and Saturday for $25 per skater. Register at cityoffindlay.maxgalaxy.net.
