Balloon Fest returning to Findlay
FINDLAY – Emory Adams Park in Findlay again is to host the Flag City Balloon Fest this weekend.
The food vendors open and helicopter rides begin at 4 p.m. Friday. The beer garden opens and a children’s fair begins at 5 p.m. Opening ceremonies are planned for 5:30 p.m. The balloons are to rise in a mass launch at 6 p.m. with illumination at 8:30.
Tethered balloon rides are to be offered 6:15-8 p.m.
Competitions are planned Saturday and Sunday at 7 a.m., with balloonists dropping bags to hit targets on the ground in the park. Saturday morning, the Up, Up and Away 5K run is to step off to benefit the Special Olympics. To register, visit www.runsignup.com.
A classic car show is planned noon-3:30 p.m. Saturday, with registration opening at 10 a.m. To register, call Brad at (419) 543-2054.
Also Saturday are the kids’ fair at 10 a.m.; vintage base ball game at 10:30 a.m.; helicopter rides 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; caricature art 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; beer garden opening at noon; radio-controlled aircraft demonstrations at noon; baton performance at 1 p.m.; presentation of balloon fest scholarships at 5:30 p.m.; hot air balloon flight at 6 p.m.; tethered rides 6:15-8 p.m.; illumination at 8:30 p.m.; and fireworks at 10 p.m.

All Saints parish festival this weekend
NEW RIEGEL – All Saints Parish Festival is to be open 6:30 p.m.-midnight Friday with a beer garden, cornhole tournament, Texas Hold ’em and a dance for those 21 and older. Xpando Band is to play starting at 7:30 p.m. The parish grounds are at 41 N. Perry St., New Riegel.
The main festival is planned noon-10 p.m. Sunday. Pork chop, ham or barbeque chicken dinners are to be served. Raffles, games and inflatable rides also are to be featured. The grand prize is a 2014 Polaris Sportsman 400 ATV or $4,500 cash.

Barbershop group to sing in Fostoria
FOSTORIA – The Fostoria Lake Plains Barbershop Chorus is to perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Meadowlark Park, Fostoria. The rain location is Wesley United Methodist Church, 1200 Van Buren St.
Admission is free.
Hayes Center to host old-time ‘base ball’
FREMONT – The Spiegel Grove Squires Base Ball team has a home match at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hayes Presidential Center, Fremont. For the first time, the Squires welcome the Rochester Grangers club from New York.

Carson and Barnes circus coming here
Carson and Barnes Circus has a pair of local shows at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Seneca County Fairgrounds. The circus features more than 50 animals and acts from 10 countries, including trapeze artists and motorcycles in a “globe of death.”
Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Services is bringing the show to town.
The midway opens one hour before each show with elephant, camel and pony rides, train rides and a free petting zoo.
Tickets can be obtained at the chamber office, 19 W. Market St., at $12 for adults and $6 for children, or at www.bigtopshow.com.
Tickets the day of the show are $16 for adults and $10 for children.
