TU preparing music camp

Tiffin University’s annual ProMusic Summer Camp is to kick off at 3 p.m. June 15 and wraps up with an evening concert June 19. The camp has been expanded this year to include a rock guitar and bass boot camp, as well as a live-looping workshop.

Hosted by TU’s music department, the camp is open to high school students, college students and adults.

During each day, camp attendees work together in master classes, rehearsals, individual and small group instruction. Each evening, they participate in open mic and new music jam sessions.

“We’re really excited to continue to grow what started out as one of the first pop a cappella camps in the country,” said Brad Rees, TU music department director. “The last two years we added hip-hop production and songwriting, and now by including rock instrumentals and live looping, students can work to develop some of today’s most important commercial music skills.”

Camp faculty comes from all over the country and includes leaders in each performance area.
