slated for ‘Hamlet’

BELLEVUE – Open auditions for William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” are set for 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Bellevue Society for the Arts, 205 Maple St., Bellevue.

Those auditioning are asked to prepare 16-20 lines of a soliloquy from any of Shakespeare’s 36 plays. Auditioners also may be asked to read from the script.

Rehearsals are to begin in mid-October. “Hamlet” is to be presented Dec. 6, 7, 13 and 14. Visit for more information.

Cast needed for youth production

BUCYRUS – Crawford Theatre Co. is to conduct open auditions for its production of “The (Almost) Totally True Story of Hansel and Gretel” at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Bucyrus Public Library.

Children ages 6-18 are needed for the production, to be directed by Betsy Gerhart.

Women wanted for ‘Swim Club’

BUCYRUS – Auditions for “The Dixie Swim Club” are set for 7-9 p.m. Sept. 15 and 16 at Bucyrus Little Theatre. The cast calls for five women ages 40 and older.

Five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to re-charge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives.
