All Saints festival set this weekend

NEW RIEGEL – All Saints Parish is to host its annual summer festival this weekend on the church grounds in New Riegel.

Adults are invited to a dance 6 p.m.-midnight Friday. The beer garden is to be open with sandwiches available for purchase. A Texas Hold ’em tournament and a corn hole tournament are planned.

Rutherford County is to play dance music 7:30-11:30 p.m. The cover charge is $5. No one younger than 21 is to be admitted.

The main festival is to run noon-10 p.m. Sunday. A pork chop or barbecue chicken dinner with dressing is to be served noon-7 p.m. The booths are to operate 1-10 p.m. with food, games, inflatable attractions, activities, 50/50 drawings and raffles for prizes such as a truck bed of groceries, a Timecutter MX 50 lawnmower (or cash equivalent) and other items.

A silent auction is to be conducted throughout the day.

Parishioners can bring their classic tractors, cars, motocycles and other vehicles for display at the festival Sunday.

At 7 p.m., the HIGH5 Youth Group is to host “Minute to Win It.” Registration is open to students grade 7 through adult. Contestants must register that day before the competition. Come to the north side of the parish hall at 6 p.m. The entry fee is $2.

Eric Sowers is to finish the festival with music from 7:30-10 p.m.
