Upper Sandusky rolls past Warriors to improve to 19-1

SYCAMORE — Evan Young fueled a quick start and Mason Vent sparked a runaway third quarter Saturday as Upper Sandusky thumped Northern 10 Athletic Conference foe Mohawk 88-54.

Young scored 16 of his 18 game points in the first quarter to help the Rams (19-1, 14-0 N10) power out to a 24-16 lead.

Upper Sandusky entered halftime with a 43-27 lead, then Vent netted 13 of his game-high 24 points in the third period to help the Rams push the advantage to 73-38.

Brett Montgomery and Gavin Carey each chipped in 10 points for Upper Sandusky, Jaidyn Thiel and Cameron McCreary both netted nine, and Trent Beamer added eight.

Brock Brause led the Warriors (13-8, 9-6) with 19 points, A.J. Hess scored 13 and Austin Tusing tallied nine.

Fliers handcuff Redskins

CLYDE — Clyde bottled up Port Clinton’s offense in the second half Saturday, turning a close game at halftime into a 46-30 win.

The Fliers (11-9) led just 22-21 at intermission, but took control with a 10-3 scoring advantage in the third period before outscoring the Redskins 14-6 in the fourth.

Ryan Lozier and Jack Morrison each scored nine points for Clyde and Caden Berger backed them with eight.

Adam Throbahn scored 14 points for Port Clinton and Dylan Simpson had seven.

Beeker-led Senecas boot Arcadia

ARCADIA — Nolan Beeker approached a double-double and Calvert shot nearly 50 percent from the field Saturday in a 57-42 win against Arcadia.

Beeker and Nick Seifert each tossed in 18 points for the Senecas (16-5), with Beeker adding nine rebounds.

Garrett Spaun tallied nine points, seven assists and three steals, and Jack Shultz scored eight points.

Dom Guillen netted 12 points for the Redskins (9-12), Hayden Rader had nine and Josh Cassell tallied eight.

Blue Devils blow past Rockets

MORRAL — Hayden Stone turned in a big game Saturday, keying Carey’s 64-39 Northern 10 Athletic Conference romp past Ridgedale.

Stone led the charge with 27 points and 14 rebounds for the Blue Devils (11-9, 8-6 N10).

Ian Yeater netted another 18 points and Cade Crawford scored nine.

The Rockets (7-14, 4-11) got 13 points from Clayton Lust and 12 from Michael Burns.

Chieftains knock back Falcons

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Hopewell-Loudon powered out to a 26-10 halftime lead Saturday en route to beating Riverdale 44-34.

Jordyn Jury and Ried Jury each scored nine points for the Chieftains (15-7), with Jordyn Jury adding seven rebounds.

Travis Milligan added eight points and Carter Coffman snared three steals.

Coby Miller keyed the Falcons (16-5) with 17 points and six steals. Brock Davis scored seven points.

Bucks gang up on Redmen

BUCYRUS — Four Buckeye Central players scored in double digits Saturday in a 71-45 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win against Bucyrus.

Jake Heefner tallied 16 points and eight rebounds for the Bucks, Brady Kerschner had 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Tyler Rose added 12 points and five assists and Aiden McDougal ended with 11 points and four assists.

Damian Dean chipped in five assists for Buckeye Central (4-17, 3-13 N10).

Lucas Kozinski poured in 27 points for the Redmen (2-19, 2-14). Mike Wise grabbed seven rebounds and Grady Jackson dished five assists.

Royals race off

ATTICA — Wynford erupted in the second quarter Saturday to help turn a close game into a 75-48 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win against Seneca East.

The Royals ended the first quarter clinging to a 10-9 lead, but outscored Seneca East 24-7 in the second to gain momentum.

Josh Crall sparked Wynford (14-7, 11-4 N10) with 31 game-high points. Isaac Sterrett added 12 points and Dustin Brady and Gavin Leffler both tossed in seven.

Pieter Wise and Andrew Kalb both netted nine points for the Tigers (6-14, 4-12).
