Columbian boys knocked out of sectional tournament

ROSSFORD — Columbian’s boys saw their season end Thursday at the Division I bowling sectional at Rossford’s Interstate Lanes.

The Tornadoes ended 13th out of 19 teams with a pin total of 3,400.

The top six teams and top six bowlers not on those teams qualified for next week’s district tournament.

Wapakoneta edged St. Marys Memorial 3,860-3,859 for the sectional crown, with Perrysburg (3,822), Ashland (3,806), Lexington (3,707) and Celina (3,662) also earning district berths.

The individual qualifiers were Elida’s Matt Adcock with a 602 series, Norwalk’s Hunter Klein with a 594, Maumee’s Roby Fairchild with a 582, Mansfield’s Hayden Couch with a 578, Lima’s Isaac Hicks with a 577 and Anthony Wayne’s Troy Kerschner with a 576.

Tommy Peer topped the Tornadoes with a three-game series of 547, tying him for 29th overall.

Zavier Sherman added a 488 series and Michael Ross rolled a 481 series. Bryan Edler added a two-game total of 275, and Columbian got one-game totals of 169 from Will Heineman, 159 from Owen Thomsic and 158 from Cameron Koerper.

Along with the individual totals, Columbian had Baker games of 169, 168, 151, 192, 177 and 122.
