’Berg bounced in OAC semifinals
ALLIANCE — Mount Union avenged its lone conference loss with a vengeance Thursday, ousting Heidelberg 97-66 in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals.
Braedon Poole tallied a double-double, Logan Hill nearly did so and D’Vontay Friga came off the bench to score a game-high 20 points to send the Purple Raiders on to the finals against John Carroll.
Poole registered 14 points, 10 rebounds and four assists and Hill had nine points and nine boards.
John Carroll added 15 points for Mount Union (24-3), Chris Painter scored 10, Tanner Slack tossed in nine and Collen Gurley had eight. Nathan Bower-Malone dished five assists and Mo Johnson had three.
The Student Princes (12-15), who beat Mount Union 68-67 Jan. 4, got 18 points from Tamal Watkins.
Dylan Woods scored 11 points, Curt Jacobs netted 10, Emmanuel Perdue tossed in nine and Nakhi Taylor added eight. Josh Dixon and Logan West-Holmes each grabbed five rebounds.
