Rams swimmers take Senior Night

BUCYRUS — It was the senior recognition meet for Upper Sandusky, Bucyrus and Wynford Thursday, and it was a lot of Rams who were recognized as they won 10 boys events and five girls events as both teams won.

The boys topped Wynford 136-72, while Bucyrus scored 12 points. The girls beat Bucyrus 118-72, while the Royals produced 51 points.

In the boys meet, the Rams took first in the 200 medley relay, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 free relay. The medley team of Ethan Collins, Eddie Smith, Gage Frey and Wes Ogden finished in 1:59.11. The team 200 free squad of Brody Williams, Trever Daughenbaugh, Braden Cano and Will Barnes won in 1:36.74. The 400 team of Frey, Aiden Morris, Ogden and Collins touched the wall in 3:55.34.

Individual winners for the Rams included Collins in the 200 IM (2:14.86, school record), Anson Hill in the 50 free (25.63) and 100 free (58.08), Jonah Voorheis in the 100 butterfly (1:14.19), Frey in the 500 freestyle (5:46.30), Barnes in the 100 backstroke (1:02.82) and Daughenbaugh in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.32).

The one girls relay win came in the 400 free, with the team of Addison Byrne, Ellison Niederkohr, Emeraih Webb and Lindsay Weininger finishing in 4:42.51.

Other winners for the Rams included Cali Andres (200 IM, 2:27.69 and 100 back, 1:07.78), Maya Collins (50 free, 27.67), Weininger (100 butterfly, 1:11.59), Webb (7:12.76).

“As our regular season comes to a close, we had some great personal best times even while working hard at practice,” Rams coach Justin Richardson said. ” This is exactly where we wanted to be for the season, it’s incredibly exciting to see what the possibilities are for the upcoming weeks.”

Chargers zap

both Old Fort teams

HURON — Edison’s girls nearly won by 1,000 pins, while the boys team topped Old Fort 2,774-1,842 Thursday at Riverview Lanes.

The girls won 1,737-777.

In the girls match, Edison’s Kayle Harris led the charge with a a 447 series, followed by Piper Ball (352), Allison Collind (343), Natalie Costerlo (305), Gabby Reiter (154) and Hayle Patton (136). The Chargers combined to win the five baker games 870-511.

For Old Fort, Amy Corfman rolled a 226, while Kate Drown added a 175, Kiara Contreras had a 139, Sienna Cobb bowled a 134 and Lennyn Druckenmiller ended with a 103.

Old Fort’s Hayden Tarris had the best overall series in the boys match with a 440. Charles Bryant added a 270 for Old Fort, while Shayne Yeager rolled a 209 and Dylan Halbisen had a 191. Joey Brumbaugh recorded a 90 game and Elijah Hopple ended with an 85 game. Edison won the Baker games 894-557.

For the Chargers, Dakota Williams bowled a 435 series. They also got a 410 from Kameron McDonald, a 387 by Brandon Goodrich, a 343 from Corbin Taylor, a 173 by Gavin Jones and a 132 by Cole Manning.
