Redmen hang on to claim season opener

BELLEVUE — Bellevue withstood a fourth-quarter challenge from Port Clinton Tuesday, holding on to beat the Redskins, 39-37.

The Redmen led Port Clinton 37-26 at the end of three quarters, but was outscored 11-2 in the fourth quarter.

Ethan Prenatt led the Redmen with 12 points and five rebounds, while Malachi Noble added seven points.

It was the Redmen’s season opener.

In the loss, Port Clinton’s Adam Thorbahn put up 10 points, while teammate Cooper Stine had seven points and a team-best 11 rebounds.

The Redskins slipped to 0-3.
