RESULTS POLICY: Coaches turning in results for any sport are reminded to use full names for all athletes. Handwriting must be legible. Photos of scorebooks must be in focus and well lit. Records should be included. Results for varsity high school and college events must be turned in that day by 9:30 p.m. All other events must be turned in by 8 p.m. Turn in results via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, fax at (419) 447-3274, telephone at (419) 448-3250 or in the drop box by the paper’s front door at 320 Nelson St. Results must be turned in the day of the event. Depending on time constraints, games and events turned in which do not include full names or are turned in late may not have recaps written about them. Results which are unreadable will not be included in the paper.
BOYS BASKETBALL: Hopewell-Loudon slipped past Sandusky St. Mary 37-35 in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division play. Jordyn Jury tallied 13 points, 12 rebounds, five steals and four assists for the Chieftains (2-0, 1-0 SBC). Marshall Reinhart added 10 points for H-L.
* Perkins powered past Bellevue 47-30 for a Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division win. Grant Nichols netted nine points for Bellevue (1-1, 0-1 SBC) and Hunter Martin tossed in seven.
BOWLING:In the Allen Eiry League, the high game for the women was bowled by Deb Phillips, with a 160. She also had the high series with a 308. For the men, Steve Steinmetz Sr. had high game with a 176 and a high series with a 352.
TIME CHANGE: The Old Fort boys basketball game today at Woodmore will now start at 4:45 p.m. instead of 5:30 p.m.
JV BOYS BASKETBALL: Ottawa Hills beat Seneca East 68-48. Alex King scored nine points for Seneca East and Cody Heibertshausen and Austin Perry each netted seven.
* Isaac Sndyer scored 12 points and Collin Cantu had eight to lead Old Fort past New Riegel 42-35. Will Hershman scored 19 points for New Riegel.
* Sandusky St. Mary upended Hopewell-Loudon 43-42.
JV GIRLS BASKETBALL: Seneca East beat Ridgedale 20-9 in a two-quarter game.
* Mohawk edged Buckeye Central 31-28. Emily Klopp scored 10 points for Mohawk.
FRESHMAN BOYS BASKETBALL: Calvert defeated Danbury 52-26. Lee Morgan led all scorers with 24 points for Calvert, Colin McCarty netted nine, Nick Palm scored seven and Eddie Willman had six.
