Chieftains crush Panthers in SBC tilt

SANDUSKY — Hopewell-Loudon got off to a blistering start, MaKayla Elmore had a double-double and Olivia Zender nearly did so Tuesday in a 91-28 Sandusky Bay Conference River Division whipping of Sandusky St. Mary.

The Chieftains raced out to a 32-7 lead by the end of the first quarter and never let St. Mary score more than eight points in a period.

Elmore led the assault with 29 points, 13 rebounds, six steals and three assists.

Zender chipped in 16 points, eight steals and five assists, and Morgan Searles and Kaia Woods both netted 18 points, with Woods adding six steals and three assists.

Lennah Fox hauled in eight boards and Hope Kreais snared six steals for H-L.

Allison Weilnau’s eight points and seven rebounds led the Panthers.

Flashes knock

back Rams

UPPER SANDUSKY — Willard outscored Upper Sandusky 21-2 in the third quarter to help turn a solid halftime lead into a 71-31 win Tuesday.

The Crimson Flashes entered the break up 30-17 before racing off in the third period.

Cassie Crawford scored 19 points for Willard, Tristin Buurma had 14, Kalli Sowers netted 10 and Layla Dials and McKenna Stephens both added eight.

Reagan Ward and Kaidance Iles each scored eight points for the Rams (1-2). Ward also grabbed six rebounds.

Pleasant trips up SE

ATTICA — Marion Pleasant held off Seneca East 37-34 Tuesday.

Alexis Hicks paced the Tigers (0-1) in the loss with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
