Thiel sets scoring mark for Rams

Jaidyn Thiel set a single-game scoring record for Upper Sandusky in Tuesday’s 8-1 thumping of Columbian.

Thiel scored all eight goals for Rams, bettering by one the mark set in a 2015 game by Taylor Emerick.

His effort helped Upper Sandusky (5-8-1) jump out to a 5-0 lead by intermission.

Austin McLane, Owen Mawer, Payton Randall and Luke Amert each added an assist for the Rams.

Anson Hill tallied five saves for the Rams.

Xavier Coppus scored an unassisted goal for the Tornadoes (0-8). Evan Schleter and Adam Schermer combined for 12 saves for Columbian.
