Sweet 16: Senecas snare SBC perfection

NEW RIEGEL — Emma White and Ashlyn Jones both registered double-doubles Thursday to fuel Calvert’s 25-17, 25-21, 25-19 win against New Riegel.

The victory capped a 16-0 run in the Sandusky Bay Conference River Division for the Senecas.

White (2 aces) provided 31 assists and 11 digs and Jones had 14 digs and 12 kills.

Hannah Miller chipped in 20 digs and six kills, Kate Rombach belted 10 kills, Zoe Meyer slammed seven kills and three solo blocks and Hannah Myers drilled two solo blocks.

Kaitlyn Kirian paced New Riegel with 14 kills and eight digs, Brooklyn Gillig had 18 digs, Marianna Tiell added seven assists and six digs and Aubrey Bouillon tallied 12 digs, six assists and three kills.

BC caps unbeaten N10 run

NEW WASHINGTON — Buckeye Central dispatched Colonel Crawford 25-9, 25-20, 25-13 Thursday to end 16-0 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play, locking up the Bucks’ third N10 title in four years.

Alivia Niese hammered 10 kills and two blocks for Buckeye Central (18-4 overall) and Lexi Evak smacked nine kills and three blocks.

Mackenzie Phenicie backed them with 13 assists, six digs and five aces, Parker Phenicie came up with 16 digs, Claudia Pifher tossed up 13 assists and Kendra Ackerman chipped in seven digs and five kills.

Big night gives Bellevue big title

BELLEVUE — Bellevue found itself in the same position as last year.

Win at home on Senior Night over Norwalk, and a Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division title was for the taking.

The Lady Red did exactly that, slipping past Norwalk 29-27, 25-27, 23-25, 25-19, 15-13 in an instant classic Thursday.

“We were in the same position as we were last year and I am so proud of the way the girls fought,” Bellevue coach Karen Irons said. “Our middles came up big in games 4 and 5 when we needed blocks.”

Bellevue (17-5 overall, 10-2 SBC) shares the league title with the Truckers (13-9, 10-2) — one year after winning it outright by beating Norwalk.

Taylor Baxter pounded 31 kills for Bellevue, giving her 403 kills for the season. She added 19 digs. Kailee Felder added 27 kills and 23 digs.

“It was a great match,” Irons said. “It is one of those where you hate to see somebody lose. It was great high school volleyball. I am so pleased.”

Molly tallied 54 assists, giving her 710 for the year and 2,637 in her career, putting her 21st on the career list so far in Ohio history.

“Molly is so smart,” Irons said. “She works her tail off. Setters do not get enough credit. She has been a leader for four years. You want a setter like her out there.”

Clouse-led Warriors boot Ridgedale

MORRAL — Paityn Clouse registered a double-double Thursday to spark Mohawk’s 25-17, 25-18, 25-17 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win against Ridgedale.

Clouse clubbed 12 kills and came up with 12 digs for the Warriors (15-7, 12-4 N10).

Alexa Konkle chipped in 31 assists, five digs and four kills, Ellie Shaw had 10 digs and Catherine Klopp (2 blocks) crushed nine kills.

Tess Weinandy (2 digs) drilled six kills, Marah Gillig had six digs and five kills, Emma Thiery lined four kills and Kendyll Gurney added four digs.

Carey rolls in N10 tilt

CAREY — Carey dominated Bucyrus 25-6, 25-8, 25-13 Thursday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play.

McKenzie Row keyed the Blue Devils (10-11, 9-7 N10) with 13 kills and eight digs, Emma Wagner (2 blocks) had 20 assists and nine digs and Ellison Roark came up with 13 digs.

Bailey Tanner belted seven kills, Alaina Tiell drilled six and Addi Miller drilled four, with Sadie Arend adding four kills and three blocks. Mackenzie Snyder (2 aces) came up with four digs and Lexia Clinger served two aces.

Tornadoes take out Clyde

CLYDE — Olivia Jacobs and Kennedy Sherman combined for 30 assists and 13 digs Thursday in Columbian’s 25-23, 25-13, 25-14 Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division win against Clyde.

Jacobs led the charge with 17 assists and eight digs while Sherman turned in 13 assists and five digs for the Tornadoes (14-6, 7-5 SBC).

Rylie Roggow (2 assists) provided 11 kills, six digs, four aces and three blocks, Kate Ledwedge came up with 10 digs, Amara Solomon tallied nine digs and eight kills, Mckenna Kidwell registered eight digs and four kills, Lexi Smith smacked six kills and Toria Ingalls (2 aces, 2 blocks) had six digs and five kills.

Chieftains dispatch St. Joe

FREMONT — Abbi Roerdink tossed up 30 assists and four teammates each belted at least five kills Thursday in Hopewell-Loudon’s 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 Sandusky Bay Conference River Division win against Fremont St. Joe.

Hope Kreais clubbed seven kills and three blocks for the Chieftains, Elizabeth Wells lined seven kills, Peyton Hoover had six kills and Olivia Savidge (2 digs) added five kills.

Hoover also came up with 13 digs, Grace Dohanyos (2 aces) had seven, Abbe Beidelschies registered six and Roerdink (2 aces) had five.

Redmen drop NBC match

FOSTORIA — Rossford beat Fostoria 25-11, 25-21, 25-20 Thursday in Northern Buckeye Conference action.

Jasmine Groves keyed the Redmen (6-16, 4-10 NBC) in the loss with 12 assists and five digs, and Esperanza Navarro chipped in 10 digs.

Zoe Rice (2 aces) added six digs and five kills, Ali Sierra drilled five kills and four aces and Momo Jones had five digs and three kills.
