Seneca East ends season with loss to Monroeville

WILLARD — Megan Rife had 10 digs and nine assists, but it wasn’t enough for the Tigers to overcome Monroeville in the Division IV district semifinals Monday in Willard.

The Eagles swept the Tigers 25-18, 25-17, 25-14.

Seneca East ended its season at 18-7.

For the Tigers, Alexis Hicks smashed nine kills, while Jessica Bowerman delivered 13 digs and nine assists. Lauren Bogner registered 10 digs and two aces.

BC falls in five to St. Paul

WILLARD — Buckeye Central pushed Norwalk St. Paul to the limit, but came up just short in the Division IV district semifinals at Willard Monday.

Lexi Evak had 21 kills and four blocks for the Bucks, while Lauren Mann had 13 kills, but the Flyers survived with a 21-25, 25-16, 14-25, 27-25, 15-19 win.

The Bucks bowed out at 19-6.

For BC, Kendra Ackerman had 20 digs, two aces and nine kills, and Alivia Niese added nine kills. Mackenzie Phenicie delivered 38 digs and three aces, while Claudia Pifher had 28 assists and eight digs. Lydia Ackerman had 15 digs.
