Clyde girls sixth at D-I district

BOWLING GREEN — Clyde’s Brooke Newsome shot a 96 at Stone Ridge Tuesday, which was Clyde’s best score in what was a sixth-place finish at the Division I district meet at Bowling Green.
Newsome tied for 18th in the individual standings.
The top two teams, and top two players not on those teams, advanced to the state tournament in Columbus next week.
Bowling Green’s Macy Hanus was the medalist, firing a 72. It was four shots better than Amanda Ruminski of Lexington.
Each advanced as individuals.
Ashland won the team title in a runaway, shooting a 335. St. Ursula Academy (351) was runner-up.
For the Fliers, Margaret Hilliker shot a 103, while Zoey Fairbanks had a 109. Grace Pocock (124) and Kennedy Brown (125) rounded out the Clyde scores.
