Buckeye Central sweeps Carey, wins 3rd N10 title in 4 years
CAREY — Buckeye Central overpowered Carey 25-13, 25-19, 25-7 Saturday to capture the outright Northern 10 Athletic Conference championship.
The Bucks (16-3) improved to 14-0 in conference play, with two N10 matches to go. Seneca East entered the weekend with two N10 defeats, but lost Saturday to Mohawk. No other N10 team had a chance to tie Buckeye Central.
Lexi Evak and Alivia Niese both hammered nine kills and two blocks for the Bucks, Mackenzie Phenicie had 15 assists and two aces, Claudia Pifher tossed up 13 assists, Parker Phenicie came up with 12 digs and Kendra Ackerman tallied six kills and five digs.
Emma Wagner gave Carey (8-11, 7-7) a double-double with 22 assists and 14 digs, and McKenzie Row slammed 11 kills and added nine digs.
Ellison Roark chipped in nine digs, Alaina Tiell, Bailey Tanner and Addi Miller each lined five kills and Sadie Arend served two aces.
Tigers out of N10 race
SYCAMORE — Paityn Clouse registered a double-double and Catherine Klopp crushed 15 kills Saturday to fuel Mohawk’s 25-9, 25-23, 25-23 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win against Seneca East.
The loss knocked Seneca East (14-6, 12-3 N10) out of contention to tie for the conference title.
Clouse gave the Warriors (13-6, 10-4) 11 kills, 11 digs, three blocks and two assists.
Alexa Konkle (2 kills) chipped in 28 assists and seven blocks, Ellie Shaw came up with 12 digs and Kendyll Gurney (2 assists) had 10 digs.
Emma Thiery (2 blocks) lined six kills, Marah Gillig (2 assists) had six digs and Tess Weinandy belted four kills and three blocks.
NEW RIEGEL — Arcadia out-scrapped New Riegel 25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 28-26 Saturday.
Jordan Hohman and Aubrey Bouillon both tallied double-doubles for the Blue Jackets in the loss.
Hohman had 19 kills, 11 digs and four blocks, and Bouillon added 16 assists, 14 digs and seven kills.
Sydney Hohman backed them with seven kills and three blocks.
UPPER SANDSUKY — Upper Sandusky downed Bucyrus 25-18, 25-11, 25-19 Saturday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference action.
Eve Smith tallied 13 assists and 12 digs for the Rams (8-12, 6-8 N10), Savannah Kinley tossed up 15 assists, Jadyn Smalley came up with 13 digs and Reagan Ward smacked 12 kills.
Sydney Stuckman hammered six kills and five aces for Upper Sandusky and Emily Hill lined six kills.

CLYDE — Old Fort got off to a great start with a 25-16 win in Set 1 against Division II Clyde Saturday.
However, it couldn’t keep the lead as Clyde came back to win 29-27, 25-16, 25-22 in non-league play.
For Old Fort (11-9), Kara Davidson slammed 11 kills, while Savannah McCoy added 10 kills and 21 digs, Chloe Wilkinson had nine kills and seven digs, Christa Kuhn had seven kills and Ashlyn Magrs tallied five aces and 14 digs. Emily Hull added15 digs and 28 assists, Emily Blankenship recorded 10 digs and 12 assists and MarcQue Harris made 10 digs.
Thiel puts on scoring display for Rams
UPPER SANDUSKY — Jaidyn Thiel scored four goals Saturday to key Upper Sandusky’s 6-0 win against Marion Pleasant.
Thiel snapped a scoreless tie just under 10 minutes into the first half, then added his next three goals in the second half.
Ross Swinehart backed him with a goal and an assist, Aaron MaGinn scored and Payton Randall had an assist.
Anson Hill stopped the only two shots he faced in goal for the Rams (4-8-1).
Cody Thompson had six saves for Pleasant (2-8-3).
Columbian handles Rockets
Rylie Roggow compiled 16 kills, three aces, 10 digs and six blocks for Columbian in a 25-18, 25-21, 25-11 non-league win against Oak Harbor.
Mckenna Kidwell added three aces and five digs for TC, while Amara Solomon had five kills and four digs, Olivia Jacobs added four kills, 21 assists and five digs, Kenadie Sherman recorded seven aces and six assists and Toria Ingalls finished with two kills, 11 digs and three blocks.
