GOLF: Mike Nordyke, John Englehart, Dick Hull and Herb Love beat out 15 other teams in the Bump’s Traveling Group scramble at Fostoria Country Club with 14 under par on Tuesday. In second place was the team of Rob Garretson, Cash Pixley, Bill Williams and Kevin Orians at 12 under par. Love won the closest to the pin contest. Dave Combs, Terry Fowler, Pete Meisner and Darl Elchert tied Rod Echleberry, Dave Sendelbach, Brian Krause and Jim Heyman for the only skins with eagles No. 4 and No. 10. Next week’s outing occurs at Sycamore Hills near Fremont beginning at 10 a.m. Players should be registered no later than 9:40 a.m. for drawing of teams.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL: Seneca East beat Wynford 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 to end second in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference at 13-3. Jessica Bowerman powered the Tigers (16-6 overall) with 13 kills, 10 digs, eight assists and three aces, and Megan Rife chipped in 16 assists and 14 digs. Lauren Bogner and Tori Fritz (2 blocks, 2 aces) both came up with nine digs, Alexis Hicks (2 blocks) lined seven kills, Hillary Bogner (2 aces) had six digs, and Mallory Beamer and Katrina Kagy (2 blocks) each smacked five kills.

* Riley Roggow turned in a double-double and Kennedy Sherman approached one in Columbian’s 25-20, 25-9, 25-12 Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division win against Sandusky. Roggow had 15 kills and 14 digs for the Tornadoes (13-6, 6-5 SBC) and Sherman registered 11 assists, eight digs and three aces. Olivia Jacobs (2 kills) tossed up 22 assists, Toria Ingalls had 13 digs, five blocks and four kills, Amara Solomon added 11 kills and six digs, Kate Ledwedge came up with five digs, Makenna Kidwell (2 aces, 2 kills) had four digs and Lexi Smith smacked two kills.

JV VOLLEYBALL: Buckeye Central beat Bucyrus 25-7, 25-7.

n Mohawk beat Upper Sandusky 25-12, 20-25, 26-24. Emma Golling led the victors with 20 digs and four aces, Kennedy Cleveland accounted for 16 assists and four kills, Ella Hoover had 10 digs and six kills and Emily Klopp clubbed six kills and six blocks.

n Old Fort beat Hopewell-Loudon 25-10, 25-21, thanks to Alyssa Hoerig’s 15 assists and five aces. Breanna Hoerig had seven digs for the Stockaders, Madison Nesselhauf added five digs and three kills, Faith Miller lined five kills, Jaislynn Woodall smacked four kills and Jillian Stover drilled three kills. Raylee Baker belted four kills and two blocks for H-L, Ashley Daniel had four digs, Abby Daniel added four digs and two kills and Grace Hoover chipped in three aces, three digs and two assists.

n Wynford beat Seneca East 25-19, 18-25, 28-26. Lexi Cheek had 18 digs for Seneca East, Lexi Bloom drilled six kills, four blocks and two aces and Brooke Bordner belted four kills and four blocks.

n Columbian beat Sandusky 25-22, 21-25, 25-17. Katie Hardina provided 10 digs and five assists for the Tornadoes, and Madison James and Jenna Bonnell each lined six kills.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: Wynford beat Seneca East won 25-20, 22-25, 25-9. Grace Manning smacked 10 kills, three blocks and two aces for Seneca East and Kateyln Best added six assists and three aces.

n Columbian edged Sandusky 25-23, 25-22. Grace Chester smacked four aces and four kills for the Tornadoes, Ryder Smith served four aces and Miriam Al-Zakwani drilled three kills

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: Calvert’s seventh grade beat New Riegel 25-14, 25-11 on the strength of Kennedy Cleland’s eight aces. Addison King and Alyssa Rishty both served another three aces for the Senecas, with King lining three kills Allison Ott belted two more serves. Audrey Bumb had two aces and two digs for New Riegel, while Kelsey Bodart added three digs and Ashlyn Bouillon had four aces, four digs and two assists.

n Calvert’s eighth grade beat New Riegel 25-18, 25-8. Allison Porter paced Calvert with five aces, four kills and four assists, Caroline Lanicek belted six kills, Olivia Miller had five assists and two kills, Cecelia Palm added four assists and two aces, Camryn Shook lined three kills and Morgan Elchert smacked two kills. Olivia Schalk had seven digs and three kills for New Riegel, while Katie Dryfuse added six digs.
