Bogner tallies 1,000th dig in Seneca East sweep of Fostoria
ATTICA — Lauren Bogner tallied 13 digs and seven aces Monday for Seneca East in a 25-13, 25-14, 25-18 non-league win over Fostoria.
In the match, Bogner recorded her 1,000th dig.
“Lauren’s work goes under the radar for us. She really is the fuel for Seneca East volleyball,” Coach Greg Hendrix said. “Without her playing lights out defense and getting us in a our system, we wouldn’t be the team we are.”
Backing Bogner was Tori Fritz with nine kills and four aces, Jessica Bowerman tallied nine kills, nine digs and four aces, Alexis Hicks had seven kills and four blocks and Megan Rife finished with 12 digs and nine assists.
Jasmine Groves had 14 assists for the Redmen (6-14), while Momo Jones tallied 10 kills and six digs, Zoe Rice had five digs and a pair of aces, Alizabeth Sierra compiled five digs and five kills and Kamari Godfrey slammed five kills.
The Tigers improved to 15-5.
Galion knocks off BC
GALION — Buckeye Central challenged itself Monday with a road match at No. 8 Galion, which is in Division III.
The Tigers handled the Bucks 25-12, 25-23, 25-14.
For the Bucks (16-4), Kendra Ackerman registered nine kills and four digs, while Parker Phenicie added 14 digs, Lexi Evak compiled six kills and four blocks, Alivia Niese smacked six kills and Mackenzie Phenicie ended with 15 assists and four kills.
Blue Jackets sweep Warriors
NEW RIEGEL — Kaitlyn Kirian pounded 19 kills, made nine digs and served two aces Monday in a 25-20, 26-24, 25-23 non-league win over Mohawk.
Aubrey Bouillon collected nine kills, 12 digs and 14 assists for the Blue Jackets, while Marianna Tiell added three kills and 19 assists, Jordan Hohman tallied seven kills, six digs and an ace and Brooklyn Gillig made 14 digs.
Paityn Clouse recorded nine kills, seven digs, four blocks and a pair of aces for the Warriors (13-7). They also got six kills, three digs and four blocks from Tess Weinandy, five kills and six blocks from Catherine Klopp, two kills and four digs by Emma Thiery, 19 assists and nine digs from Alexa Konkle, seven digs, three blocks and two aces from Marah Gillig and five digs apiece from Ellie Shaw and Kendyll Gurney.
Clyde gets 10th SBC victory
CLYDE — Other than No. 1 singles, Clyde rolled Monday in a Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division win over Perkins, 4-1.
Perkins’ Emma Lynch beat Emma Strudthoff 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
Clyde’s No. 2 Klara Miller beat Bailey Garrett 6-0, 6-0, while Nathalie Cziesla defeated Greta Gross 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.
At doubles, the Fliers No. 1 duo of Megan Barrett and Alyssa Laurer took down Diana Schoder and Trinity Bibler 6-4, 6-4, while the team of Hali Hagemeyer and Averie Fritz dropped Ryleigh Keller and Abriye Skelton 6-7 (3), 6-4, 10-2.
The Fliers improved to 15-5 overall and 10-2 in the SBC Lake.
