NORWALK — Seneca East nosed out Galion 314-316 for the championship Saturday at the Norwalk Jim Denos Invitational at Eagle Creek.

Jake Forehand was the medalist, shooting a 74. Teammate Andy Bauman registered an 81 and Anfrew Kalb had an 83

Bellevue took ninth with a 350, Columbian ended 11th (361) and Clyde finished 16th (392).

Brenton Brown’s 86 topped Columbian. Griffin Bunting added an 89, Hayden Carter shot a 91 and Cole Routzahn had a 95. Collin Anway (98) also played for the Tornadoes.

Redmen earn sportsmanship award at own tourney

FOSTORIA — Fostoria’s Raelyn Hoffman and Alyssa Durst claimed third at third doubles and the team earned the sportsmanship award Saturday at the Fostoria Invitational.

Anthony Wayne claimed three titles en route to beating Clay 38-30 for team championship.

Springfield nosed out the host Redmen 18-16 for third, Ottawa-Glanforf came in fifth (14) and Calvert ended sixth (8).

Teams earned 10 points for a win, eight points for second, six points for third, four points for fourth, two points for fifth and one point for sixth.

Jenny Chasco added a fourth in singles for Fostoria, Abrianna Swartz and Maddie Cook ended fourth at No. 1 doubles, and Mya Weimerskirch and Imani Velazquez took fifth at No. 2 doubles.
