Lakota’s Dull returns to state; Bellevue’s Spurlock joins her
ARLINGTON — For the third straight year, Lakota’s Kyleigh Dull will be playing golf in Columbus at the state tournament.
Joining her this year from the area in Division II will be Bellevue’s Lara Spurlock.
Dull tied St. Henry’s Ellen Naumann for the overall No. 1 score with a 71 at Sycamore Springs at the district tournament.
The top four teams and top four individuals made it out.
Dull shot a 37 on the front 9, but backed that up with a 34 on the back.
Spurlock fired an 85 for eight overall. She shot a 38 on the front, which helped put her through because of a tough 47 on the back 9.
Spurlock’s team didn’t fare as well.
The Lady Red placed ninth with a 387. The Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division champs struggled as Keyara Schneider was the second scorer with a 90. Isabel Sanchez shot a 105 and Tea Layne finished the scoring with a 107. Olivia Martinez posted a 115.
Lima Central Catholic (334), Huron (367), St. Henry (371) and Shelby (379) are headed to state.
