Buckeye Central moves to 9-0 in conference play

NEW WASHINGTON — Buckeye Central stayed perfect in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play by beating Wynford 25-7, 25-13, 25-19 Thursday.

Makenzie Phenicie led the way with 17 assists, four aces and four kills for the Bucks (11-3, 9-0 N10) and Parker Phenicie came up with 12 digs.

Kendra Ackerman tallied eight kills and eight digs, Lexi Evak slammed seven kills and four blocks and Alivia Niese drilled five kills.

Senecas jump on Stockaders

Calvert took advantage of Old Fort’s miscues Thursday to roll to a 25-14, 25-12, 25-11 Sandusky Bay Conference River Division win.

The Senecas scored just 33 of their 75 points off their own swings — 29 kills and four aces.

Hannah Miller led the victors with 11 kills, Zoe Meyer belted nine kills and five solo blocks, Ashlyn Jones tallied five kills and two aces and Hannah Myers registered four kills and three solo blocks.

Emma White turned in 35 assists and the other two aces for Calvert, A.J. Hemminger had 11 digs and Jones chipped in 15 digs.

Ashlyn Magers topped the Stockaders (7-8, 5-5 SBC) with 12 digs and Emily Hull handed out seven assists.

Grace Wasserman lined four kills, Emily Blankenship added four assists and Savannah McCoy and Chloe Wilkinson both drilled two kills.

Redmen out-scrap Genoa in five

GENOA — Fostoria switched its lineup in the third game and weathered a big injury late in that contest Thursday en route to upending Northern Buckeye Conference foe Genoa 21-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-18, 15-11.

The Redmen (6-9, 4-4 NBC) moved setter Jasmine Groves to a hitter’s position in the third set and were four points away from winning that game when Dashani Taylor left the match with a high ankle sprain.

Jolie Counts came off the bench to run the offense in the third set and finished with 31 assists.

Groves, meanwhile, registered a triple-double with 15 kills, 13 assists, 10 digs and four aces.

Taylor ended with seven digs and six kills.

Zoe Rice backed them with a double-double of 10 kills, 10 digs and three aces, Momo Jones accounted for 20 kills, five aces and five digs and Kamari Godfrey had 10 digs and six aces.

TC can’t overtake Truckers

Norwalk outlasted Columbian 13-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-20 Thursday in Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division play.

Riley Roggow tallied a double-double for the Tornadoes (10-3, 4-3 SBC) in the the loss with 17 kills, 11 digs, four blocks and three aces.

Olivia Jacobs (2 aces, 2 kills) added 21 assists and four digs for TC, Toria Ingalls (2 blocks) had 11 digs and five kills, Kennedy Sherman chipped in nine assists and three digs and Lexi Smith ended with two kills and two digs.

Vermilion trips up Bellevue

BELLEVUE — Vermilion turned back Bellevue 25-15, 20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 17-15 Thursday in a Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division match.

Molly Bullion and Taylor Baxter each registered double-doubles for the Redmen in the loss.

Bullion had 38 assists, 24 digs and three kills and Baxter (2 aces) ended with 22 kills and 16 digs.

Kami Hay chipped in 33 digs, Kailee Felder smacked 16 kills and Gabby Turner lined two blocks.

Chieftains boot Arlington

ARLINGTON — Abbi Roerdink tossed up 40 assists and four teammates each slammed at least seven kills Thursday in Hopewell-Loudon’s 19-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-16 win against Arlington.

Elizabeth Wells pounded 11 kills for the Chieftains, Peyton Hoover had nine, Hope Kreais clubbed eight and Olivia Savidge slammed seven.

Hoover also came up with 11 digs, Grace Dohanyos (2 kills) had 13 digs and Roerdink lined three kills.

Rams take out Colonel Crawford

UPPER SANDUSKY — Eve Smith turned in a double-double Thursday to key Upper Sandusky’s 25-18, 16-25, 25-18, 25-17 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win against Colonel Crawford.

Both teams are now 4-9 overall and 3-6 in the N10.

Smith gave the Rams 17 digs and 14 assists, Jadyn Smally came up with 18 digs and Savannah Kinley handed out 13 assists.

Emily Hill and Lily Gibson both belted seven kills, Reagan Ward hammered six kills, five blocks and four aces and Jenna Kutz crushed five kills and four blocks.
