JV VOLLEYBALL: Kennedy Cleveland accounted for eight digs, four kills and four assists and Kendyll Gurney came up with 16 digs as Mohawk beat Arcadia 25-11, 25-12.

n Monroeville beat Buckeye Central 25-15, 25-23.

n Hopewell-Loudon beat Fostoria 25-13, 25-3 on the strength of Allie Milligan’s eight assists and four aces. Haley Weaver served another four aces for the Chieftains and Grace Hoover had four assists and two aces.

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: Ella Kerschner tallied eight aces, five kills and five digs to key Columbian’s seventh grade in a 25-8, 25-11 win against Sandusky. Avery Landers added six assists, five aces and four kills, Kyra Matthews lined four aces and Chloe Coppus belted two aces.

n Aubreyonna Rhodes registered seven aces and six digs as Columbian’s eighth grade beat Sandusky 25-14, 22-25, 25-19. Alyissa Hartson chipped in three aces, three kills and three digs, Ana Morrison had five kills, three aces and two digs and Brooke Johnston smacked five kills.

n Fremont St. Joe beat New Riegel’s seventh grade 25-6, 25-17.

n New Riegel’s eigthh grade beat Fremont St. Joe 25-14, 25-11, getting 14 assists and three aces from Alayna Schalk. Katie Dryfuse added nine digs and six aces for the Blue Jackets and Olivia Schalk slammed six kills.

GOLF: Mitch Stearns continues to lead in the second half of the Phat Cakes Golf League with 163 points. Ray Nutter is in second place with 152. Stearns posted the low round with a 37. Skin winners were Andy Halcomb, Ken Ziebold and Jason Galitza. Prize hole winners were Tony Consolo (proximity shot, No. 12), Halcomb (long drive, No. 13), Dale Gibson (pin shot No. 11 &long putt No. 18) and Adam Brow (long putt No. 15 and best poker hand). Week No. 20 will be on the front 9 Tuesday. This is the final week before the league playoffs start on Sept. 23.
