Thiel’s hat trick not enough for Upper Sandusky

UPPER SANDUSKY — Jaidyn Thiel twice got Upper Sandusky within a goal — all as part of hat trick — but the Rams couldn’t catch Clear Fork in a 6-3 loss Thursday.

Clear Fork (2-1) never trailed, using two unassisted goals by Braeden Feeman and another from Seth Stoner to take a 3-0 lead in the game’s first 10 minutes.

Thiel countered with two goals in a 1:36 span, scoring off passes from Austin McLane and Luke Amert to cut the gap to 3-2 with 25:12 left in the first half.

Stoner and Thiel each added an unassisted goal before the break to keep it a one-goal game, but the Colts used second-half goals by Isaac Kistler and Carter Windsor to pull away.

Luke Bailey added six saves for Clear Fork. Anson Hill stopped 13 shots for Upper Sandusky (1-2).
