Fliers open season by sweeping Redmen in home match

three sets against Clyde in a 5-0 loss.

At singles, Clyde’s Emma Strudthoff beat

Abri Swartz 6-0, 6-0, Klara Miller defeated

Raelyn Hoffman 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 and

Nathalie Cziesla upended Maddie Cook 6-0,

6-0 at No. 3.

The Fliers No. 1 doubles team of Megan

Barrett and Alyssa Laurer defeated Jenny

Chasco and Shay Olin 6-0, 6-0, while the second

duo of Hali Hagemeyer and Averie Fritz

topped Alyssa Durst and Jocelyn Bisson in

straight sets 6-0, 6-0.

The Fliers started the season 1-0.

TC gets to 1-0

Bucyrus and Columbian battled Tuesday in

a non-league match. Columbian earned a 3-2

victory.

At singles, Bucyrus’ Natalee Predieri

topped Morgan Amory 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1. TC’s

Sammy Kimmet defeated Calli Marzi 7-5, 6-1

at No. 2 and Allyson Riley upended Katelyn

Vaughn 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3.

Bucyrus’ No. 1 doubles team of Caleigh

Rister and Sarah Scott topped Casey Knutson

and Anna Stephey 6-4, 6-3, while TC won the

match with a second doubles win. Linzie Boos

and Erin Musil beat Claire Schiegh and Katie

Kuhn 6-3, 6-2.
