Cline solid as H-L girls finish 10th

HARROD — Kiley Cline had a strong day at the Colonal Golfer’s Club Tournament Tuesday. The Hopewell-Loudon player fired an 87, leading her team and placing seventh individually.

In the 19-team event, the Chieftains placed 10th, with 454. Lima Central Catholic won the event with a 316, 59 strokes better than Lexington’s “A” team, which was runner up.

Morgan Searles had a 113 for Hopewell-Loudon, while Olivia Zender had a 120, Hannah Fought had a 134, Abby Yarris had a 136 and Kasey Thompson registered a 156.

Mandy Ruminski shot a 71 to claim medalist by a stroke over Lima Central Catholic’s Mary Kelly Mulcahy.

Bellevue girls move to 3-0

NORWALK — Bellevue’s girls stayed unbeaten in dual play by thumping Norwalk 187-208 Tuesday at Eagle Creek.

Olivia Martinez led the victors with a medalist round of 41, Lara Spurlock fired a 44 and Keyara Schneider and Kendall Collins both had a 51.

Noelle Jackson’s 44 keyed the Truckers. Hannah Dumbeck shot a 47, Chloe Thomas had a 53 and Mylea Barber added a 64.

Pirates power past TC

HURON — Two Perkins players shot sub-50s Tuesday to lead the Pirates past Columbian’s girls 195-219 on the South Course at Thunderbird.

Lexee Kim carded a 44 and Lauren Visci had a 48 to lead the Pirates (2-1). Avery Bing added a 51 and Ireland Weatherly, Grace Kosior and Caroline Printy each had a 52.

Meredith Obringer’s 47 led the Tornadoes (0-2). Ali Woessner and Audrey Buskirk each shot a 57 and Norah Smith had a 58. Bailey Hull (64) and Carly Marie Beck (66) also played for TC.

BC groups up, drops Wynford

NEW WASHINGTON — Buckeye Central’s scorers finished within three strokes of one another Tuesday en route to beating Wynford 170-183 at Cranberry Hills in the first Northern 10 Athletic Conference match.

Logan Niese led the way with a 41, Kaiden Vaughn fired a 42, Tyler Rose shot a 43 and Jarod Mason had a 44.

Alex Kanney (45) and Justin Dentinger (52) also played for the Bucks.

Wynford’s Josh Crall shared medalist honors with a 41 and Kaleb Keaton had a 44.

Perkins slips past Redmen

BELLEVUE — Perkins edged Bellevue 171-174 Tuesday in Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division play.

“It was a close match that could have gone either way all the way to the sixth man,” Bellevue coach Luke Spurlock said. “We played well, just not quite enough to get the win.”

Adam Hosang paced the Redmen in the loss with a 42 and Hayden Foos shot a 43.

The Pirates got a 40 from John Sharp and a 42 from Sam Siesel.
