Sarka leads TC charge vs. Clyde

Ava Sarka started with a birdie and ended with two more Thursday to fuel Columbian’s 204-213 girls win against Clyde on the front nine at Mohawk Country Club.
Sarka finished with a 40 to lead everyone.
Taylor Losey added a 48 for the Tornadoes (1-2), Meredith Obringer carded a 51 and Tyler Ward, Norah Smith and Breanna Brock each had a 65.
Brooke Newsome’s 45 paced the Fliers. Margaret Hiliker shot a 54, Grace Pocock had a 56 and Clori Hackenburg turned in a 58.
Tornadoes turn back Fliers
CLYDE — Two of Columbian’s scorers each carded at least three pars on the front nine at Green Hills en route to a 182-188 win Thursday against Clyde.
Trevor McCarthy tallied four birdies on his way to a medalist round of 42 for the Tornadoes (2-0), and Greg Gase had three birdies and ended with a 43.
Andrew Branson backed them with a 45 and Griffin Bunting had a 52.
Ben Hohenstein keyed the Fliers (2-1) with a 44, Ryder Gamertsfelder and Max Yates both turned in a 47, and Grant Reese shot a 50.
Lead pack fuels Stockaders
CLYDE — Old Fort’s first three scorers finished better than anyone on Danbury’s team Thursday on the way to a 191-196 win at Green Hills.
Jarett Woodall’s 43 for the Stockaders (2-2) led everyone. Carson Steyer chipped in a 45, Kaleb Wilkinson shot a 46 and Colin Nutter added a 57.
David Mesnard paced the Lakers (3-2) with a 47, Justin Murray and Bradley Murray each shot a 49 and Grayson Clark had a 51.
Rams ease past H-L
FOSTORIA — Brett Montgomery fired a medalist round of 34 and Upper Sandusky cruised from there Thursday in a 167-188 win against Hopewell-Loudon at Loudon Meadows.
Trevor Clifford followed Montgomery with a 40 for the Rams, Owen Knapp shot a 45 and Benjamin Latham had a 48.
Kiley Cline’s 46 keyed the Chieftains, Layne Myers and Owen Schumm each shot a 47 and Cody Balliet had a 48.
Forehand propels Tigers past Buckeye Central
NEW WASHINGTON — Seneca East’s Jake Forehead claimed medalist honors Thursday to help the Tigers upend Buckeye Central 168-184 at Cranberry Hills.
Andrew Kalb backed him with a 40, Andy Bauman shot a 42 and Jon Margraf tallied a 47.
The Bucks got twin 45s from Tyler Rose and Nick Fike, a 46 from Nic Ratliff, and twin 48s from Adam Krebs and Kaiden Vaughn.
Senecas sail past St. Paul
NORWALK — Maddy Brown fired a 43 and Dominic Mangiola shot a 44 Thursday to lead Calvert’s runaway 184-216 win against Norwalk St. Paul at Eagle Creek.
Brayden Thomas added a 46 for the Senecas (2-2) and Jacob Kin shot a 51.
Jackson Cook’s 47 led the Flyers.
St. Joe slips away from Raiders
FREMONT — Fremont St. Joe bunched its scores just a little better than Lakota in Thursday’s 162-165 win at Sycamore Hills.
Kyleigh Dull of Lakota carded a 36 to edge St. Joe’s Garrett Michael by a stroke for medalist honors.
However, Lance Emrich followed Michael with a 41 and Caden Spader and Blake Michael each added a 42 for the Crimson Streaks.
Ethan Longoria added a 42 for the Raiders, Colt Dible shot a 43 and Connor Hill had a 44.
G’burg trio leads the way
FREMONT — Three Gibsonburg players shot 43 or better Thursday en route to beating New Riegel 180-194 at Sycamore Hills.
Nathan Tornow fired a 42 to key the Golden Bears, Fred Sisco and Mitchel Delventhal each tallied a 43 and Tyler Polish had a 52.
The Blue Jackets got a 44 from Jacob Theis and matching 50s from Eric Theis, Carson Whipple, Dalton Reinhart and Sam Whipple.
