Buckeye Central girls golf

Coach: Vickie Niedermeier, 2nd year.

2017: Won N10

Returning letterwinners: Seniors Lexi Biglin, Layne Vanderpool, Leah Vanderpool, Elizabeth Heydinger, Alli Stahl, Beth Cronau, Madie Diesch.

Others: Freshmen Olivia Sherwood, Megan Rhodes.

Outlook: Buckeye Central likely will be the favorites again in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference

with seven seniors on the roster and all of them are letterwinners.

“The experience these seniors got playing with our seniors last year was huge,” Niedermeier said. “I expect them to be good helpers as well to our freshmen this year, but I’d think we will contend again this year in the league.

“I pretty much have my top 3 set in the lineup, but four and five will be rotated between the other seniors more than likely. I’ve really been working on them with chipping and putting this year. A few of the girls are pretty confident in their drives, so we want to work on our short game. Some of the girls are a little nervous and not as confident in the early going because I think everyone just expects us to go out there and win the league again with what we have coming back. I hope a few weeks into the season, they will relax a bit and get back to where I know they can be on the course.”

The Bucks return a lot of talent, including N10 player of the year in Heydinger. Biglin, Stahl and Heydinger will be the three mainstays for the Bucks, Niedermeier said.
