PARENT MEETING: Upper Sandusky will host its fall sports meeting for parents July 23 at 7 p.m. in the gym. Parents of all fall sport athletes (excluding golf) should attend. There is to be a general meeting beginning at 7 followed by individual sport meetings. The golf meeting is July 31 at 7 p.m. in Room 502. CY YOUNG FEST: Reservations are being taken for the Cy Young Days Festival luncheon featuring 1985 award winner Dwight “Doc” Gooden. The New York Mets star pitcher will speak at the luncheon, sign autographs, answer questions and be available for pictures. The event occurs at the Laborers Local 134 Hall in Newcomerstown on June 23. The hall is also sponsoring the luncheon. Doors are to open at 11:30 a.m. while lunch begins at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 11. Reservations can be made by calling (740) 498-4545 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Gooden will also appear in the Festival Parade at 6 p.m.
ALL STAR GAME: The Senior District 9 All Star games are May 29 at 7 p.m. at Sports Force Park (Cedar Point). All-star teams are separated by counties in this year’s format. Crawford/Wyandot will face Richland, Erie/Ottawa will play Huron/Ashland, and Seneca/Hancock will square off against Sandusky/Wood/Lucas.
