Montgomery, Baker take top awards in N10
Upper Sandusky sophomore Brett Montgomery is having a decent start to his high school golf career.
The Ram was selected as the Northern 10 Athletic Conference golfer of the year — for the second straight year — Sunday evening when the list was released.
Montgomery led the Rams in almost every dual and tournament this season as he averaged a 37.30 score, which was .50 better than Ridgedale’s Mitchill Reasoner.
The other top award went to Ridgedale coach Chad Garberich and Carey’s Martin Baker for co-coaches of the year as the teams shared the league title this season.
Joining Montgomery on the first team was Carey’s Marcus Miller (38.10) and Trey Bame (40.60) and Seneca East’s Alex Forehand (42.20).
On the second team was Upper Sandusky’s Trevor Clifford (42.78), Seneca East freshmen Jake Forehand (43.90) and Andrew Kalb (44.50) and Mohawk’s Logan Drum (44.50).
Buckeye Central had three honorable mention picks including Adam Krebs, Josh Dentinger and Dalton Sheaffer, while Carey’s Ethan Tanner, Upper Sandusky’s Evan Young and Mohawk’s Marshall Stull also appeared on the list.
