Fliers boot Thunderbirds in OTCA Tournament

CLYDE — Clyde powered past Lima Central Catholic 5-0 Saturday to claim a win in the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association Tournament.

The Fliers (18-1) won each match in straight sets.

Heidi Marshall beat Olivia Kesner 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Alayna Barrera dropped Anna Janowski 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2, and Jil Eisenblaetter defeated Morgan Chaney 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3.

Fliers Lakotah Cagle and Madi Bannister upended Maddie Moore and Madi Brinkman 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.

Akane Aritsuka and Siera Hisey beat Thunderbirds Kenya Manly-Banks and Ally Oravitz 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

Senecas roll past Rams

UPPER SANDUSKY — Calvert lost just one match Saturday in a 4-1 win against Upper Sandusky, moving the Senecas to 5-9.

Marie Brodman beat Sydney Schryer 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Devyn Warnement blanked Mady West 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, and Marie Gosche downed Jodi Smalley 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3.

Senecas Alayna Kapelka and Bria Coleman upended Emma Schoenberger and Lyndsey McQuown 6-1, 7-6 (5) at No. 1 doubles.

Rams Samantha Fagan and Abby Davidson defeated Emma Prince and Marie Welter 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
