Bucks knock back New Riegel, Galion in home tri

NEW WASHINGTON — Addie Ackerman tossed up 50 assists and Emily Stump and Jenna Karl combined for 40 kills Saturday as Buckeye Central swept New Riegel and Galion.

Ackerman also tallied 14 digs for the Bucks, who held off New Riegel 25-20, 20-25, 25-22 and beat Galion 25-23, 25-14.

Stump had 23 kills and 18 digs and Karl registered 17 kills and 19 digs. Bailey Agin backed them with 15 digs.

Courtney Pifher added five kills against New Riegel and Lexi Evak lined four against Galion.

New Riegel beat Galion 25-9, 19-25, 25-17.

Brianna Gillig paced the Blue Jackets (14-3) with 31 kills, 16 digs, eight aces and four blocks.

Lindsay Bouillon chipped in 58 assists and 17 digs, Kaitlyn Kirian tallied 28 kills and six blocks, Christen Hohman had 26 digs, Brooklyn Gillig provided 19 digs and Madalyn Reinhart had nine digs.

Senecas slip past Lake

Calvert narrowly claimed the final two sets to upend Lake 25-14, 21-25, 15-25, 26-24, 15-13 Saturday.

Lexie White and Kennedy Smith both turned in double-doubles for the Senecas, with White tallying 29 digs and 20 kills while Smith had 27 assists, 14 digs and five kills.

Ashlyn Jones backed them with 10 kills and eight digs, Sophie Burtis (2 block assists) handed out 16 assists, Zoe Meyer (2 digs) slammed nine kills and five solo blocks, Hannah Kelbley came up with 15 digs, Shelby Hemminger had 38 digs, Mallary Nielsen (2 kills) added seven solo blocks and three digs, Sydney Johnson chipped in seven digs and Hannah Burns ended with eight kills, seven digs, five block assists and four aces.

Kin becomes Carey’s all-time kills leader

ARCADIA — Sydney Kin bettered her sister’s school record in career kills Saturday to help Carey beat Arcadia 26-24, 25-23, 25-18.

Kin slammed 18 kills in the win to give her 1,145 in her career. Her sister, Shelby Kin, held the former school record with 1,137.

She also added nine digs, six solo blocks and four aces for the 11th-ranked Blue Devils (15-2).

Lawyer Stansberry turned in 35 assists and three aces, Hannah Zimmerman belted 14 kills and had 17 digs and Mckenzie Row provided seven kills and 10 digs.

Raiders outlast Wildcats

VANLUE — Down 2-1, Lakota battled back to force a fifth set where the Raiders topped Vanlue 16-14 Saturday. The other sets went 20-25, 25-15, 21-25, 25-8 for the Raiders.

Madison King led Lakota (3-13) with nine kills, five aces and 22 digs, while Mackenzie Feathers added nine kills and six digs, Addyson Marshall had seven kills, Faith Biddle made 17 digs and served seven aces, Qiara Palos, Rilee Milligan and Mariah Woodruff all made six digs and Alexa Gabel collected a pair of kills, three digs and three blocks.
