Tornadoes power past H-L, Seneca East

ATTICA — Emily Davis hammered 18 kills and Niki Cole tossed up 29 assists Saturday to help Columbian beat Hopewell-Loudon 25-17, 25-14 and Seneca East 25-15, 25-15.

Cole added two aces and Davis served one for the Tornadoes (2-0).

Shayna Schwartz backed them with 18 digs, Addison Conti drilled 11 kills and three aces, Macy Allen (ace) smacked eight kills and Carley Rosen served six aces.

Hopewell-Loudon beat Seneca East 25-15, 25-19.

Jacque Burns led the Chieftains to their split by lining 17 kills, Peyton Hoover drilled 11 kills and Hailey Coppus handed out 43 assists.

Kenadee Siebenaller and Jessie Kreais each added five kills for H-L against Seneca East.

Redmen boot Ottawa Hills in opener

TOLEDO — Fostoria opened the season Saturday by beating Ottawa Hills 25-23, 25-17, 25-14.

Tyriana Settles (2 blocks) paced the attack with 20 kills and five digs for the Redmen, and Dakota Thomas (2 kills) backed her with 25 assists, five aces and five digs.

Mary Harris chipped in seven kills, seven digs and four aces, Evion Taylor came up with five digs, Bailey Robinson served three aces, and Meredith Grine and Alex Talley each lined two kills.

Blue Jackets

roll to victory

CASTALIA — New Riegel overpowered Margaretta 25-14, 25-18, 25-15 Saturday in the season opener for both teams.

Lindsay Bouillon’s 22 assists, four aces, three kills and two blocks keyed the Blue Jackets.

Brianna Gillig hammered 18 kills and Katelyn Kirian belted another eight.

Blue Devils overpower NB

NORTH BALTIMORE — Carey blasted North Baltimore 25-6, 25-8, 25-10 Saturday.

Lawyer Stansbery handed out 28 assists for the Blue Devils in their season opener and Sydney Kin smacked 13 kills and three blocks.

McKenzie Row added 11 kills, eight digs, three blocks and two aces, Hannah Zimmerman chipped in seven kills, seven digs and five aces, Emma Wagner came up with 10 digs and Bailey Neal served four aces.

Rams fall in five

McCOMB — McComb outlasted Upper Sandusky 25-19, 19-25, 23-25, 27-25, 15-11 Saturday.

Kennedi Hayden’s 20 kills fueled the Rams in the loss. Lucy Smith tossed up 33 assists and served three aces, and Tori Damron lined two blocks.
