BASEBALL: The Robert Bo Reid Memorial Tournament is July 22-23 in Tiffin. There will be 8-under, 10-under and 12-under divisions with individuals awards for first and second place finishers. Entry fee is $200 for 8-under and $300 for 10-under and 12-under. All proceeds will benefit the Tiffin City Parks and Heidelberg “H” Club. BASKETBALL CAMPS: There are a couple July Heidelberg basketball camps. The Berg Basketball Camp hosted by coaches from HU is July 18-21 from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. It’s for boys entering grades 2-5 with a cost of $125. The camp highlights include instruction by college coaches through drills, competitions, 3v3 play and 5v5 play, a camp t-shirt and an awards ceremony. For boys entering grades 6-8, it’s July 24-27 at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $125 and includes the same highlights. For boys entering grades 9-10, the cost is $200 for overnight and $180 for commuters and its an overnight camp July 21-23. It includes housing and meals. Highlights include instruction through drill work and offensive and defensive concepts. It also includes a camp jersey. GOLF: Pete Heilman and Dave Pence are tied with Kevin Guth and Scott Reineck with 14 points in the Baumann Old Fort Ex-Hi League. Prizes went to Mark Theis (long putt No. 11), Ryan Chavlier (closest in three No. 16) and Dick Hull (closest to pin No. 17).
n Ray Krupp, Dick Rochester, Larry Wilson, Gene Sherer and Joe Weaver tied the teams of Paul Hannay, Ken Zeop, Ernie Price and Gary Kroeger, and Wayne Moore, Paul R. Fey, Dutch Edeburn, Tm Mannas and Bill Kraut for the win in Thursday’s Seneca Hills Retirees League. Prizes went to Moore (long putt No. 1) and Sherer (closest to pin No. 6).
FOOTBALL: The Tiffin Youth Football draft is July 8 at 9 a.m. in the shelter across from the YMCA for boys and girls entering grades 3-6.
RACING: Racing action begins today at Sandusky Speedway with the Sandusky Speedway Karting Series. The gates open at 4 p.m. The hot lap begin sessions begin at 5:30 p.m. with racing to follow. Adult admission is $10, $5 for ages 6-12 and free for ages 5 and under. Saturday, the Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) Supermodifieds will make their second visit of the 2017 season to Sandusky Speedway. Joining the MSA Supermodifieds will be the ECO Mechanical Crate Sprint Cars, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hobby Stocks. Adult admission is $17, $15 for seniors, $5 ages 6-12 and free under 5.
