Columbian takes down FHS in 5

FOSTORIA – In one of its biggest wins of the season, Columbian thwarted Fostoria 25-23, 17-25, 25-23, 16-25, 15-9.

Fostoria lost despite another record-setting match for Tyriana Settles. The Redmen standout smashed a career-high 35 kills, which also set a school record. She also had 20 digs.

Also for the Redmen (11-3) Meme Settles had eight kills, 32 digs and an ace, while Gabby Gregg dished 48 assists, 10 digs and two aces. Evion Taylor added five kills, 20 digs and three aces. Meredith Grine registered three kills and Bailey Robinson had six digs and two aces.

Columbian statistics were not available as of press time.

Oler, Warriors pound Redskins

ARCADIA – Destini Oler hammered 16 kills and collected two aces and five digs Saturday as Mohawk topped Arcadia 25-16, 25-10, 23-25, 25-20 in non-league play.

Emily Conner chipped in eight kills, four blocks and four digs for the Warriors (10-2), Addie Thiery smashed seven kills, Kaylee Ward had four kills, six blocks and 15 digs and Madi Chester tallied a pair of kills, six aces and 13 digs. Chelsey Trusty finished with two kills, two aces, 34 assists, six blocks and 15 digs and Emily Pursell made nine digs.

Bucks just keep winning

MONROEVILLE – Jenna Karl lined 15 kills and made 13 digs for Buckeye Central as the Bucks notched their 12th win by beating Monroeville 25-17, 25-17, 28-26 Saturday.

Lexi Evak added nine kills and five blocks for the Bucks (12-1), while Sarah Heydinger smacked seven kills, Emily Stump collected four kills and six blocks, Bailey Agin made 26 digs, Erin Baldosser made 12 digs and Addison Ackerman ended with 33 assists and seven digs.

Senecas slip by Tigers

The match between Calvert and Seneca East was tight throughout, but the Senecas pulled it out in the end with a 20-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 15-11 non-league win Saturday.

Lexie White totaled 18 kills and 20 digs for Calvert, Lila Gehring added 13 kills and four digs, Mallory Neilsen had four kills and six blocks, Madison Jones registered three kills and a pair of blocks and Kennedy Smith had 17 assists and 27 digs. Shelby Hemminger recorded three kills and 35 digs, Sophie Burtis added 13 assists and 11 digs and Sidney Felter made eight digs.

Aubrey Saylors had 15 kills, four aces and 15 digs for the Tigers, while they also got 24 kills from Taylor Gimenez, 20 digs by Amber Hescht and 21 assists and 17 digs from Jillian Allgyre.

Sailors take down Fliers

VERMILION – Clyde dropped below the .500 mark in the Sandusky Bay Conference Saturday after a 25-23, 11-25, 21-25, 20-25 defeat to Vermilion.

Jacey Groover led the Fliers (6-5, 3-4 SBC) with eight kills and four blocks, while Grace Borden added six kills and 16 digs, Heidi Marshall tallied four kills and 12 digs, Sydnee Kriger-Helms made 19 digs and Morgan Bannister finished with 20 assists, two kills and 11 digs.

OF goes 3-0 at Lima Bath Invite

LIMA – Pushed to three sets just once, Old Fort went 3-0 at the Lima Bath Invitational Saturday with wins over Toledo Woodward (25-1, 25-10), Parkway (29-27, 21-25, 25-21) and St. Henry (25-21, 25-20).

In total, Allison Adelsperger had a stellar day with 73 assists, 18 digs, seven kills and a pair of aces for the Stockaders. Kiely Taylor added nine aces, 24 kills and seven blocks, Sydney Clouse tallied 19 kills, four blocks and a pair of digs, Jordan Magers had 19 kills, two aces and 13 digs, Mackenzie Ward chipped in 11 kills and nine digs and Peyton Miller finished with four aces and 17 digs.

Morgan Miller added eight kills and five blocks and Caylie Menkhoff ended with two aces and eight digs.
