SOCCER: Tiffin Soccer Club will offer a spring program for middle school students with two divisions: 12U and 14. Prior experience is not necessary. Tentative plans call for one or two training sessions per week, approximately 6-7 p.m., beginning in late March and ending in late May. Plans call for practices to be held at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex at Hedges-Boyer Park. Games will be against East Suburban Soccer League teams Woodville, Port Clinton, Oak Harbor, Eastwood and Lake, along with other northwest Ohio teams. Games will be played from early April to late May, typically on weekends. The schedule will be determined in March. Cost is $75 per player. To register, visit www.tiffinsoccer.org. BASEBALL: The Seneca East Baseball Club will have its 2020 mandatory registration meeting for children who would like to play on a T-Ball (ages 4-5) or Town League (ages 5-8) team. This will be held in the Seneca East cafeteria Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. Forms will be sent home from school with children and also will be available in the elementary office. n Sign up for the Mohawk district summer league baseball and softball will be held Feb. 29 and March 7 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Mohawk High School Cafeteria. Students currently enrolled in grades K-8 interested in playing in Melmore, McCutchenville or Sycamore can sign up on these dates. SOFTBALL: The first organizational meeting for all coaches of the Sen-San-Wyan girls softball league is March 4 at 7 p.m. at the Upper Room at St. Joseph Activity Center on Melmore Street in Tiffin. This instructional league is open to all girls in the surrounding areas. No girl will be denied participation on their home team. This league is for any interested girls who has completed kindergarten through eighth grade. Any new team that would like to join must send a representative to the meeting. GIRLS JV BASKETBALL: Upper Sandusky edged Wynford 32-31.

BOYS JV BASKETBALL: Jonah Englehart had 14 points, Landen Barr added 10 and Adam Magers eight for Old Fort in a 36-27 win over Hopewell-Loudon. Bryce Avalon had 11 and Daniel Lommerse eight for the Chieftains.

n Lakota defeated New Riegel 41-33. For New Riegel, Shane Hohman had seven points.

BOWLING: Dianne Smith rolled a 147 for the women’s high game and Deb Phillips had a 288 for the women’s high series in the Allen Eiry League. Dave Everhart took the men’s high game with a 172 and Jim Donaldson claimed the men’s high series with a 292.

BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL: Despite being outscored 14-5 in the fourth quarter, New Riegel topped Lakota 44-41 in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division play. Nick Reinhart led the winners with 10 points, while Brandon Gillig tallied nine points, nine rebounds and four assists and Chris Acree and Hayden Hohman each scored seven points. Logan Schalk swiped three steals.
