SOFTBALL: The first organizational meeting for all coaches of the Sen-San-Wyan girls softball league is March 4 at 7 p.m. at the Upper Room at St. Joseph Activity Center on Melmore Street in Tiffin. This instructional league is open to all girls in the surrounding areas. No girl will be denied participation on their home team. This league is for any interested girls that has completed kindergarten through eighth grade. Any new team that would like to join must send a representative to the meeting. BOYS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL: Vermilion slipped past Clyde 21-20.
GIRLS JV BASKETBALL: New Riegel beat Hopewell-Loudon 48-27. Katelyn Arbogast scored 16 points for New Riegel, Brieanna Norville netted 14 and Kylie Stallard added six. Allie Milligan and Taryn Hampton both scored seven points for H-L.
n Old Fort roared past Gibsonburg 51-17. Emily Blankenship scored 16 points for the Stockaders, Jaislynn Woodall tossed in eight and Alyssa Hoerig had seven.
n Koryn Morlock had eight points and seven rebounds as Columbian beat Lexington, 34-27. Kenzie Davis had eight points for the Tornadoes and Alli Damm had six rebounds.
BOYS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Tiffin’s eighth grade slipped past Sandusky 43-39 to get to 15-0. Bryce Roggow had 16 points for TMS, while Brayden Roggow added 15 points, Jack Koerper had seven and Brady Gooding ended with five.
n Blake Bender scored 16 points and Isaiah Perez added 10 in Old Fort’s 65-35 eighth grade win against Lakota.
n Old Fort’s seventh grade beat Lakota 36-19, getting 16 points from Tyson Frisch and six from Evan Combs.
GIRLS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Old Fort’s eighth grade beat Lakota 53-23. Macie Miller poured in 24 points and Addison Gillmor added eight for the Stockaders, who ended the regular season 15-1.
n Makenzie Fortney poured in 24 points to key Old Fort’s seventh grade in a 34-23 win against Lakota.
